Alex Jones - The Obama Deception, Debunked

Author: Edward L Winston
Added: August 18th, 2009

Released: March 15, 2009[26]

This article contains my debunking of Alex Jones' most popular film to date, The Obama Deception. In it, as usual, I go through each statement, quote, reference, and so on in the film relating to conspiracies and/or pseudoscience and discuss it.

This movie came out extremely quickly and there are rumors that a second one is in the works; Essentially it covers how President Obama is essentially a puppet for the New World Order, sort of the same thing we hear from Alex Jones in movies about two to three times a year.

Let's get to 'bunkin'!

[Obama]
Contrary to the rumors that you've heard, I was not born in a manger. I was actually born on Krypton and sent here to save the planet Earth.

As if the audience laughter, and his own, weren't enough to show the true intent behind this statement, a lot of people use this as some kind of verification that Obama is up to no good. The origin of this speech was the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, both he and John McCain (the other presidential candidate in 2008) took jabs at each other and themselves[1].

[Obama]
We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set.

This was from a speech in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 2, 2008. The part of the speech quoted was discussing that we need to expand diplomacy for national security, not just the military[2].

[Rahm Emanuel]
Everybody somewhere between the ages of 18 to 25 will serve three months of basic training...

The context is taken out intentionally by conspiracy theorists. It's almost impossible to find a clip of this interview that isn't cut down to a couple of minutes with some kind if conspiracy theorist commentary added in. What he was speaking about was anyone who gets involved in civil programs, such as the civil engineers, Peace Corps, etc - "everyone" that volunteers will receive "basic training" relating to whatever it is they're joining. Essentially, as he even states, it's a copy of similar programs during the Clinton years; even then the US didn't have a large paramilitary organization[3]. The entire interview is about the book he co-authored with Bruce Reed, entitled The Plan: Big Ideas for America and had nothing to do with Barack Obama. This interview happened a little over two years before Rahm Emanuel was appointed Chief of Staff[4].

[Obama]
We've gotta have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong.

This is from the same speech in Colorado Springs and is referring to the Peace Corps; basically the idea of diplomacy being an important part of national security.

[Obama]
Yes we can.

[Crowd]
Yes we can.

[Boy]
Obama's healthcare plan will include coverage of our essential medical services.

[Kids]
Yes we can!

The video with the young black males is disturbing to a lot of people, essentially they feel it's some kind of "Hitler Youth." I wouldn't go that far, considering Obama didn't start the fraternity that created the original video, nor did anything in their little spiel say anything about being racially pure. In fact the video seems more like those "stepping" videos that were really popular a few years back. It was apparently a part of an after school program, but the video was pulled by the original uploader shortly after it appeared on the Internet[5].

[Webster Tarpley]
Obama is a cruel hoax. He works for Wall Street. He's an agent of finance capital.

We'll get into this later.

[Man 3]
Where did you come up with the number 700 billion dollars? Here's the treasury spokeswoman's quote:

[Text]
"It's not based on any particular data point. We just wanted to choose a really large number."
Treasury spokeswoman, Forbes,
September 23, 2008

[Man 3]
It's not based on any particular data point, we just really wanted to come up with a really big number.

This originates from September 2008, that's prior to the election and obviously prior to Obama's office[6][7]. Is it really surprising that Alex Jones and other conspiracy theorists are trying to pass off something said four months prior to Obama officially taking office as something that happened when he was in office?

[Obama]
The Democrats and Republicans who've opposed this plan. I say, step up to the plate.

Just like above, this is from 2008 and refers to a bill that was introduced in 2007[8], long before Obama was in office.

[Man 4]
A few members were even told that there would be martial law in America if we voted no.

This is something else from 2008 about the bill above. Essentially there was panic by the Bush administration that if something wasn't done, then the market may simply collapse and cause social instability. Some people even thought the chaos would be so great that there'd have to be martial law. Of course, it never happened, but Alex Jones loves these marital law quotes, because for the last 15 years or so, he's been saying martial law is coming very soon[9][10]. Obviously Alex Jones takes out the complete context of what the congressman was saying in order to imply that if the bill didn't pass there'd be a sort of coup.

[Louie Gohmert]
Secretary Henry Paulson is no George Washington.

This is from a speech about the same bail out bill above, where Louie Gohmert [R-TX] essentially is talking about why he opposes the bill, then goes on to talk about George Washington, Freedom, the Bible and then says Henry Paulson (Secretary of the Treasury) is no George Washington, because Paulson supports a bill that will essentially tax Americans[11]. I know, it doesn't make much sense to me either.

[Dennis Kucinich]
I don't think anyone questions, Mr. Kashkari, that you're working hard. Our question is, "Who are you working for?"

The discussion was whether Kashkari was working in the best interest of Congress or worrying more about the various mortgage companies.

[Man 7]
Obama pledged that he would resume the security and prosperity partnership talks between Mexico and Canada that president Bush initiated.

Obliviously Jones believes this is a reference to the North American Union, which for now you can read more about on my NWO page.

[Lou Dobbs]
The old boss is starting to look like the new boss.

[News Anchor]
Robert Gates is going to remain on the job as defense secretary for at least a year.

It doesn't matter if it's the same person or a new person, to Alex Jones they're a part of the NWO conspiracy, except Ron Paul.

[News Anchor]
Plenty of sources knew about this meeting...uh, told us and others that it was at Hillary Clinton's house but clearly it wasn't.

I like how the film highlights the text "Obama-Clinton Secret Meeting". Perhaps what's not communicated for a reason is that this meeting took place between Hillary Clinton and Obama while he was campaigning. It's incredibly likely the meeting was about Clinton taking position as Secretary of State if Obama was elected[12].

[Obama]
We've gotta give them a stake in creating the kind of uh...world order that I think all of us would like to see.

Any time a politician says "world order" it's obviously a part of the grand conspiracy. They can cover up 9/11, but they can't keep their candidates from using those words and telling everyone of their grand plans. It's fairly obvious from the full video that he's talking about a "world order" of peace where American national security isn't in question, as the whole context was about investing in education and healthcare in the third world.

[Alex Jones]
We see you causing a depression so you can blow out the economy and consolidate it, bankrupt it, we know that you are enemies of free humanity and we are here, standing against your tyranny!

Alex Jones sure loves being a hero.

[Alex Jones]
The Obama Deception. The truth strikes back.

Yeah, when I think of Alex Jones, I think of truth. It's not like I haven't pointed out absolute lies from every single one of his films.
