 Level: 0 | So, I was watching a thread where some interesting scientific developed was announced regarding batteries. Instantly a doomer came into the thread and accused everyone of having "their heads in the sand".  Level: 0 | "because technology totally harms the environment man". actually I really don't know. It's probably similar to how conspiracy theorists generally deny any thing that goes against their own beliefs. They probably deny any scientific process because of similar indoctrination that the conspiracy theorists receive. A reason for hating science and technology for that matter is probably because of the history of harm that these two have played on the environment, and they still think that that same harm is happening in today's world. That or they just think that it's playing God. | |||||

The loudest voices you hear are doomers on the one side and global warming deniers on the other; both tend to be rather boring and/or unintelligible. | |||||

Level: 1 CS Original | there are people who believe we have achieved enough through technology and should cut back, same people who like fresco's ideas and merola's rubbish - they feel the real technology is being hidden from us in vaults and patent offices while we're stuck with inferior technology. | |||||
