I think time travel is pretty cool however right now no one has proven it can be done and this test is just another pile of tests that would say it can't be done.

I think time travel is interesting and it may be possible but based on the evidence against it's very possible no solution to this problem will be answered ever or at least anytime soon. Time travel coming into reality to me is the same as someone claiming to channel Hitler, or watching someone go ghost hunting, it's entertaining at most but no proof.

Billll when it comes to traveling into the future, that's easy, it's the past that's so improbable. You can speed up traveling into the future by simply going faster. For example if you went 4 light years round trip at 99% of light speed, it would take a little over four years (or weeks?), but you yourself would only experience a few months time. The same is true for even 0.01% light speed. So, this kind of thing is certainly possible in the near future, depending on whether or not we care enough to invest in fast space travel.

^ Ok by that logic people traveling in their car are technically time traveling. Just by moving each day your slowing down time. I'm a future time traveler!

Not really, they need to go a little bit faster. But it's true for things in orbit around the Earth, which is why clocks in satellites run at different speeds than ones on Earth.

I don't think speed is relevant. Any movement through space causes time to slow down for the traveler.

Think of space/time as north/east. If you're traveling in the north direction in a straight line and decide to move east a bit, it will take you longer to reach your destination because you are taking away from north to go east a bit.

It's similar for space/time. When you stand still you move through time at the default rate. But any movement through space takes away from the time "direction", causing time to slow down for you. When you move through space you sacrifice movement through time. It's just that the differences in time are so miniscule that they are undetectable.

Also gravity wells slow down time proportionate to their gravitational strength, that's why satellites have different clocks from earth.

Something else I should add is the reason that traveling back in time is linked to exceeding the speed of light.

Using a similar analogy from my previous post, if you traveled only east, you wouldn't travel any of the north direction. Similarly when you move at the maximum speed through space(lightspeed), time totally stops since all your speed is focused on moving through space only.

Hypothetically if you exceed light speed, it would be like moving south in the north/east analogy. South being backwards in time.

Just for clarification, east = space, north = normal time, south = backwards in time.
