>> His talks and seminars delve into the heart of reality – the universe, ancient history, particle physics, sacred geometries, mathematics, consciousness.

Throwing the sacred geometry stuff? And the "consciousness" just makes me think of that universal consciousness bullshit.

I'm going to guess the writer knew exactly what he was doing when he used those terms, Edward.

We are guided by our sense of the interconnectivity of all things and of the spirit of Unification leading us through our individual endeavors to reach our ultimate potential, benefiting both self and humanity as a whole. We are driven by our appreciation, respect and affirmation for all life.

Core Values
This Foundation is a value-based organization in which fundamental Core Values and purposes are established and become the guidelines for the actions of all the participants. This approach allows for an appropriate method of accountability and alignment of all participants. Our Core Values are:
Integrity with Global awareness;
Empowerment of self and of others;
Dedicated service to humanitarian and Universal cause.

I read their website for a bit and at first it sounded as if they were some scientific group trying to find the elusive theory of everything, but I couldn't really figure out what they were all about then I read this.

Definitely crack :D

Nothing wrong with them but it turns out they arent a scientific group, they are a new age group.

When they talk about a unified theory of everything they are not talking about the scientific goal of the unification of Newtonian and quantum physics :)

Check out their products page:

Demonstrating the parallels between this theory and ancient codes found in documents and monuments, Nassim weaves a tale which may prove to be one of the most important discoveries of our time.

Have you ever wondered why those science classes were at all important?

Were you ever curious about the mysteries of Ancient Egypt?

What about the modern mystery of crop circles?

These DVDs explore all of the above as well as the following ::

DVD 1 :: The Search for the Fundamental Pattern Dimensions of Geometry, Chemistry, Scaling Law, Biology, Principle of Unification, Pyramids

DVD 2 :: From Micro to Macro – Unifying the Field Geometry, Structure of the Vacuum, Crop circles

DVD 3 :: Everything is a Black “Whole” Ancient Egypt, Archeology, Black Wholes/White Wholes

DVD 4 :: Unlocking the Mystery – The Future is in Our Hands Bible, The Arc of the Covenant, Knights Templar, Emmanuel's Tomb, Kabbalah, Tree of Life Decoded

This is not science.

New Age groups like to mix science with their bullshit and they like Quantum physics because they are under the mistaken understanding that Quantum physics means anything is possible. Their scientifically illiterate believers love it because it means they think they have scientific support.

Anyway this is why you have then not only talking about "Chemistry, Biology" and "Unified field theory" but also "crop circles" and "Pyramids" or "The Arc of the Covenant, Knights Templar, Emmanuel's Tomb, Kabbalah, Tree of Life Decoded"

See?

Aaron, it seems you have much to learn about the world of woo ;-)

I read some bits on 'The Resonance Project' website... sounds like another New Age feel goodery and not a research facility in the least.

And the DVDs...

"DVD 4 :: Unlocking the Mystery – The Future is in Our Hands Bible, The Arc of the Covenant, Knights Templar, Emmanuel's Tomb, Kabbalah, Tree of Life Decoded"

Ummm... yeah... sounds like he's been hanging out with Henry Lincoln

Ed --

Yeah, exactly my impression! New agers love to throw around words like "quantum" to make their stuff sound "scientifical". :-) Just read anything by Chopra and his quantum woo.

crank. ZMers really love him though. Of course, that just illustrates their lack of understanding of science. He's another example of seeing patterns where there are none. Or I should say, finding meaning in patterns where there is none. Whatever

While Dawkins' is, as Matt says, a bit of a prick in the way he comes accross, I don't see anything he says as bad science.

So yes, I'd love to know what things he is talking about.

Why is Dawkins a prick? Because he thinks religion is essentially on par with CTs and cults and isn't afraid to say it?

Regardless, you can't deny that he's damn smart

"Why is Dawkins a prick?"

Because I say so.

Its a matter of personal opinion.

You don't have to agree, and that's fine.

The reason Dawkins annoys me a bit is because he always gets so annoyed with these people, you really can see he is fuming when they talk their bullshit to him. I do understand why he does and sympathise but it makes for a poorer public speaker on the subject as people usually... well.. think he is an arrogant asshole rather that listening to the logic of what he is saying.

Hitchens annoys me much more as well, I find him a bit too serious.

I find Sam Harris the best. Cool and calm, and easier on the eyes.

I'm with Ed. I just don't think Dawkins handles himself well as a public speaker.

That says nothing about his abilities as a scientist or his level of intelligence, neither of which I would dispute.
